Delete your account

You can delete your Katha AI account at any time, either in the app or using the form below. This page explains exactly what happens when you do, so there are no surprises.
Please read this before you delete
If you've published any stories publicly, they stay online. Deleting your account removes your personal data, but stories you deliberately published — along with their chapters and comments — remain available to readers. Your name is removed and replaced with an anonymised byline, but the work itself isn't taken down. We do this so that other people who bookmarked, followed, or are partway through reading your published work don't lose access to it. If you would rather a published story came down, email hi@thetractionlabs.com before you delete your account and we will take it down for you.
Everything else tied to you personally is removed or permanently scrubbed, as set out below.
What happens to your data

If you left onboarding before verifying an email address, the temporary account holds no email or name and cannot publish anything. Uninstalling the app is enough; if you would like it removed anyway, email us.
How to delete your account
In the app: open the You tab, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, choose a reason (or skip it), and confirm with Delete my account. It happens immediately.
By request: use the form on this page, or email hi@thetractionlabs.com from the address associated with your account, and tell us you'd like your account deleted. If you're not sure which email is on your account, include whatever details you can (username, display name) and we'll help you confirm.
What to expect after you ask
We'll acknowledge your request within 7 days, and complete the deletion within 30 days. If we need anything from you to verify the account is yours, we'll ask right away so it doesn't hold things up.

Request deletion
Send the request from here and it goes straight to a person. You do not need an account, and you do not need to be signed in.
Once this is done it cannot be undone. Stories you published publicly will stay online under an anonymised byline. If you would rather take those down, say so in the details below and we will remove them before we delete the account.
